The PADI Underwater Navigator course fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to more accurately use your compass underwater.

Knowing where you are underwater and how to get from one point to another is certainly an enormous advantage when diving independently. Also, getting a feel for the paths and distances of the dive brings further advantages.

Safe underwater navigation makes it easier to look for landmarks, wrecks or reefs, and above all it helps you enjoy your dive without having to worry about where you are.

The specialty course PADI UW Navigation is a prerequisite for many levels of training.
During this course you will do short training dives and two dives where you will learn and use the techniques, basic knowledge, procedures and instruments for navigation.

What you will learn

• Methods of estimating distance underwater.
• Natural navigation techniques.
• Use of swimming patterns.
• Techniques for locating dive sites.
• Compass navigation.

You will need a minimum a full day at the dive site to complete your course, you can read up on the background knowledge at your leisure in our e-learning portal.

You will need to bring a full diving equipment, buoy, dive computer (or watch depth gauge) and compass. Any missing equipment can be hired from us for the duration of the course. Tanks and weights are included.
