Seach & Recovery – become a treasure hunter

In this PADI Seach & Recovery course you’ll learn how to locate lost items underwater. You’ll practice different types of underwater search patterns and learn how to use a lift bag as you plan and conduct mock searches.

An object that has weight on top of its size is often a hopeless endeavour with normal diving equipment and carries risks.

Of course, every treasure hunter once started with these basics of searching and recovering. Who knows, maybe one day you will become a famous and rich treasure diver?

In this course we will look at the techniques and application of some of the methods of search and recovery:

• Planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and dangers of search and recovery diving.
• Limited visibility diving and U/W navigation techniques.
• Correct techniques and safety considerations for finding an object,
• Application of different search patterns
• Use of lines, ropes and hoists.
• Correct techniques and safety considerations for recovering an object,
• Use of lifting devices.

You will need a minimum a full day at the dive site to complete your course, you can read up on the background knowledge at your leisure in our e-learning portal.

You will need to bring a full diving kit, buoy, dive computer (or watch depth gauge) and compass. Any missing equipment can be hired from us for the duration of the course. Tanks and weights are included.
