IDA/CMAS Diveguide

It is important for any dive centre to have responsible divers who can organise and lead dives and dive trips. This is why this professional status was created. It is the beginning of a professional career. The IDA Diveguide is comparable to a Divemaster in the PADI-system.

Why don’t you take a holiday in Cyprus and broaden your education, individually and purposefully.

Course price 699 Euro

The role of the IDA Dive Guide is to provide divers with exciting and safe dives and to improve their knowledge and skills through experience. The Dive Guide should also make „his“ divers aware of the need to plan and conduct dives safely in order to avoid problems and incidents.

Within the CMAS family, IDA plays an important and leading role in the training of dive professionals. The IDA Diveguide Programme offers an easy entry into this professional diving career, while being very flexible and exclusively designed for practical application. Of course, it still includes a lot of background information that a professional dive guide needs in practice.

Your practical diver training includes:

  • Guiding certified divers
  • Guiding novice divers during an OWD course
  • Making a dive site map
  • Emergency plan and map
  • Rescue scenarios

The training duration is entirely up to you, depending on how much time you want to spend each day, but at least 5 diving days.

Costs and requirements for course participation

Your course costs 699 Euro including the equipment, the transfer from your hotel in Larnaka and surroundings to the dive spot and back, the use of our e-learning portal and the knowledge tests. Not included are entrance fees to dive sites, if any, boat trips, if any, and IDA Dive Guide registration fees.

To participate in the course, you must be 18 years old, Rescue Diver certification (or qualifying certification) UW-Navigation, Groupleader, Night Diver, Deep Diver; completion of Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months; minimum 40 logged dives; medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months.

You will need to bring a full diving equipment, buoy, dive computer (or watch depth gauge) and compass. Any missing equipment can be hired from us for the duration of the course. Tanks and weights are included.

Are you interested in another special course to continue your education? Book them at the same time and we will give you a 20% discount on the course fee for each specialty course booked.

We are happy to accept your booking by email. Or book now using our online booking form. We will take care of the rest and look forward to seeing you.
